Once upon a time, I had a goal. I was so confident in my abilities to reach this goal. I visualized myself achieving this goal and all of that manifesting goodness. Needless to say, I never met this goal. I found the things that I needed to do in order to meet this goal unpleasant and more often than not, I chose my comfort over this goal.
After repeating this cycle over and over again with a variety of goals ranging from weight loss to being a consistent blogger, I stopped and asked myself – what’s the point? Isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result? I’m not trying to be crazy, so I should just quit, right?
Maybe, but the even bigger question is, what’s worse – enduring the struggle-some tasks to achieve my goal or never reaching it and living with mediocrity? What’s harder – taking 15-30 minutes to workout three times a week or being uncomfortable in my body?
Life is full of choices, and oftentimes they’re choices between two not-great things. It can be tough deciding which would make us less unhappy, but when it comes to me and my goals, no matter how many times I fall short, I figure I’ll take a page out of Dory’s book and just keep swimming. I’ll eventually get somewhere!
